USA: Cosmopolis possibly released in August

This isn’t verified but The Playlist is saying they are hearing August release date for Cosmopolis in the US. An excerpt:

With Cannes set to kick off tomorrow, one of the hottest tickets in town will be David Cronenberg’s Robert Pattinson-starrer “Cosmopolis.” The latest freaky entry from the director sewed up North American distribution with EOne at the beginning of the month, with a promise of a release arriving this summer. As it turns out for folks in Canada and the U.K., it will just be a matter of weeks before you’ll be able to see the film. EOne has set a June 8th bow north of the border and a June 15th debut in the U.K. for the film.

The first word from Cannes won’t drop for a while as “Cosmopolis” won’t be screening until Friday, May 25th but for Cronenberg and Pattinson fans, the wait won’t be too long until it lands in theaters near you. No word yet on the U.S. date (though we have heard August), but we’ll keep you posted.

We’ll let you know when things are official. 🙂

FYI, tentative release date for New Zealand is November. I’ll laugh if it turns out to be the same week BD2 opens!
